The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the EU rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty's govt. conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5 year phase in plan that would be known as "EuroEnglish":

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c" ...Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.

The hard "c" will be dropped in favor of the "k". This should klear up konfusion and keyboards kan have 1 less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with the "f". This will make words like "fotograf" 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate spelling. Also, alwil agre that the horible mes of the silent "e"'s in the language is disgraceful, and they should go away.

By the 4th yar, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

Nice to see your again gals. I'm currently in Costa Rica, on the Pacific coast. Beer selection is very poor, the Internet is even worse, and there is no nightlife at all - but scubadiving is awesome, an that's the whole point. And most of people does not speak English at all, just Spanish - which is the most disappointing thing. Should we start a new thread "Brush up your Spanish"? :)

Nope... Just a couple of common words like Hola or Asta Maniana.
Speaking of flying/diving - yes, it's highly recommended not to dive the same day as you flying (i.e. your very first day on the resort). Your dive computer (if you have one) has no idea that you already spent a couple of hours under a lower pressure. Dive tables can not address this issue as well. Generally speaking, you should wait 24 hours from your landing before you can dive. A little bit conservative approach - but it's much better to be a live coward than a died hero :)
Of course, if you have your own business jet - you can dive any time after landing. Business jets mantains an airfield pressure in the cabin all the time.

As far as I know right flying after diving could represent danger to health. It happens due additional nitrogen that dissolves in blood when staying under high pressure being submerged. Normal Inflight cabin altitude at FL is approximately 6000 feet or 1800 meters. If depressurization schedule is too rapid for nitrogen to be breathed out of blood, it could "boil" with all the following consequences. So it's better to pay heed the additional cabin pressure differential calculating depressurization regime. Diving instructors should know that, and advise you proper brake before flying.

And I was on a massage table poked with acupuncture needles all over my body when the building started shaking and cracking.
Everybody just "flew" out of the building within seconds.
The acupuncturist took left over needles off my limbs outside his clinic... in the street. All telephone connections suddenly failed or were congested...
