Neither one :) Just playing tricks with one of the most famouis proverbs. You can translate "power" two ways: "энергия, сила, мощь" and "власть над людьми". The common translation is the first one, I just found that the second one has even more sense. Know the world and how it organized, know the people of this world and their motivations - and you can rule this world. Or country. Or company. Or family :)))

A friend of ours from California stuck in New York during and after hurricane Sandy.
Here are his words:
We are only 8 blocks from the No Power Zone located at Lexington and 48th. I will stay in touch after this crazy hotel settles down; It is totally full....1500 people in 725 rooms..........No flights........Only taxis........Guests are really stuck trying to get flights......60 staff members working versus the normal 230. They are doing great. The hotel has power and no damage. Still no phones. Internet back on We were very lucky to have power and heat; all off from 39th St to the water. This Hotel business has many unusual twists and turns. Very hard on a lot of our staff. Great positive attitude by all here working hard. Regards, Bob

Today's message on East Coast kayakers mailing list (a lot of NY, NJ and DC kayakers there, including a couple of Russian ones):
